At Purple Dive, we are passionate and committed to delivering the best possible experience to each and every guest and aim to have all our divers leave as part of the Purple family. We are well aware that dive centres around Nusa Penida offer diving for various prices and ours are slightly higher than some others.

We completely understand that cost is a big factor when choosing where to dive or complete your training — and we want to show you why we charge more than some other places and, more importantly, what you get for that price.

At our dive centre, we don’t just meet industry standards — we exceed them. Our whole team, from office to dive staff to our boat crew are here to provide you with the best experience possible and here's what sets us apart:

We are the only PADI 5-Star Career Development Centre (CDC) in Nusa Penida

We are very proud to be the only PADI 5-Star CDC centre on the island, the highest PADI rating for a dive center, we are also a certified PADI Eco Dive Centre. We have two Course Directors and three IDC Staff Instructors on-site. We run regular Instructor Development Courses (IDC) throughout the year, which means we are fully equipped to support your diving journey, whether you're just getting started or training to become a professional.

Safety is not just a word — it’s our priority

We strictly follow PADI standards and always dive within certification limits — including depth and supervision. We never compromise on safety. This applies not only in the water when assessing dive site conditions by our experienced staff, but across every part of our operations, from the condition of our equipment to emergency preparedness. All our dive staff carry compact marine radio’s during the dive in specially designed waterproof canisters. Of course our dive centre and boats are fully equipped with all required emergency equipment including oxygen, life jackets and first aid kits.

Legal, licensed, and insured

Unlike some other operations, we are a fully legal business, and all of our team members have the required work permits and insurance. Our dive staff are all licensed to teach and active PADI members and our Captains all have captain licences. Our dive centre and staff are all insured and we provide complementary DAN insurance to all students participating in entry level courses. This protects both our staff and our guests — and means you’re diving with professionals who are qualified, responsible, and accountable.

Experienced, well-treated staff who know these waters inside and out

We believe in treating our team with fairness and respect. Our staff are paid properly, provided with career development opportunities, resulting in excellent staff retention and a welcoming atmosphere around the dive centre with happy staff. We are also committed to contribute to the local economy and we employ many local Indonesian staff, most of them from Nusa Penida. This means you instructors/guides know these dive sites and conditions exceptionally well and are able to guide you safely and show you the best of what Nusa Penida diving has to offer.

Top-tier equipment and boats

We invest heavily in high-quality dive gear and maintain it to the highest standards. Our wetsuits are custom-made for comfort and warmth, and we use Scubapro BCDs and regulators — equipment trusted by professionals worldwide. Our compressor is regularly serviced, and our dive boats are purpose-built with twin 100HP engines, designed for safe and comfortable diving.

Beautiful training facilities

Our facilities are designed specifically for dive training. We have a 3-meter deep infinity pool overlooking Mount Agung, a big classroom, and a dedicated equipment room, plus showers and restrooms for your convenience. Every detail was created with diver comfort and effective learning in mind. We are situated above the main road, with easy access and a stunning view across the ocean.

For your dive days, we also provide all the comfort you need: tea, coffee and water, your lunch, towel after your shower...all you need is included!

Committed to sustainability

As a PADI Eco Dive Centre, 1% for the Planet member, and Silver Green Fins member, we don’t just talk sustainability — we live it. Our renewed Green Fins membership means that we get audited every year on our operations and sustainability practices. As for 1% for the Planet, it simply means that we donate 1% of our turnover to environmental NGOs. That includes 1% of your bill!

We reuse water, minimize waste, provide reef-safe sunscreen, and use eco-friendly soap for our wetsuits. These are just a few examples of small actions we take every day to reduce our impact. We also strictly follow all marine park rules and have a no-touching policy.

Small groups, big experiences

We keep our dive groups small and personal, with a maximum of 4 divers per guide, and 2 divers per instructor for Discover Scuba Diving. We also group divers by experience and certification level, ensuring everyone has a safe and enjoyable trip.

In summary

Yes — we’re more expensive than some. But when you dive with us, you’re paying for:

  • The highest level of professional instruction

  • Fully legal and insured operations

  • Ethical employment practices

  • Exceptional safety standards

  • Top-quality equipment and facilities

  • Environmental responsibility

  • Small group sizes and personalised attention

We don’t believe in cutting corners — not when it comes to your safety, our staff’s well-being, or the health of our oceans. That’s why we charge what we do. And we believe you’ll see and feel the difference the moment you step through our doors. If you are not sure, check out our reviews!
