Crystal Bay Nusa Penida

How to get to Nusa Penida from Bali

From South Bali to Nusa Penida:

Sanur is the main harbour in South Bali. Several speed boat companies operate from Bali to Nusa Penida daily, such as Maruti, Angel Billabong, Semabu Hills, and Axe Stone. Some compagnies can arrange pick up in Bali, some will even organise pick up from the airport. The boat journey takes around 40 minutes. You can book your ticket online here.

From Kusamba to Nusa Penida:

Depending on where you are coming from, Kusamba might be a better option for you (especially if you are coming from the North or the East of Bali). The boat price is usually cheaper, and the boat ride is quicker, about 20 minutes. There are fewer boats though and so less departure time options. We recommend Gangga Express boat.

From Padang Bai / North Bali to Nusa Penida:

If you would like to come across with a vehicle (motorbike or car) your best bet is the public ferry from Padangbai. Be warned that to get on the 2 o’clock boat you may have to arrive at 6 to secure a place.

There is also a speed boat service from Padang Bai (good if coming from North or East Bali). It is cheap however is leaves very early in the morning and is often very full and not very comfortable. There are no direct boats from Amed, so from the North of Bali, Padang Bai would be the closest option with Kusamba.

From Benoa harbour to Nusa Penida:

If you are coming from Nusa Dua or other southern spots, there are also a couple of companies operating from Benoa harbour.

From Nusa Lembongan to Nusa Penida:

Small boats operate all day long until 5pm and will take you from the Yellow Bridge in Nusa Lembongan to Toyapakeh harbour in Nusa Penida, the ride only takes a few minutes and usually costs around 50,000 IDR

You will find extra information about transport on this page

Once in Nusa Penida, we are located about 10 minutes from Sampalan harbour and 20 minutes from Toyapakeh harbour. If you need assistance to organise transport, please let us know. You can also easily rent a motorbike in either harbour.
