Learn how to dive and get certified!

The PADI Open Water course is the most popular scuba diving course in the world. Your PADI Open Water certification opens up a whole new world, covering 7/10th of this planet. Who hasn’t dreamt of being able to breathe underwater? And what better place to do it than the incredible Island of Nusa Penida, Bali? Manta rays, turtles and many more may be among your first encounters in the blue realm below.

This is where the magic begins!

Who is it for?

To do the PADI Open Water course (or the junior version), you’ll need to be at least 10 years old, in good physical health, able to swim 200 metres and float on the surface unassisted for 10 minutes. No previous scuba diving experience is required, although it does help if you have done some snorkelling.

For all courses you will need to fill a medical form, download it here. If your answer to any of these questions is "Yes", you will need to be cleared by a doctor for diving.

Course description

We recommend covering most of the theory before you join us for your course, to save time during your holiday! Through the PADI E-learning you will read and watch videos and test your knowledge. Once you are here, you will get plenty of practice with the equipment and your instructor during a minimum of 5 sessions in the pool to learn all the basic skills.  Then, best of all, you will do 4 dives in the ocean under the supervision of your instructor to get used to swimming around with all the fish! You might just ‘bump into’ a turtle or a manta…

People are different and learn differently, so your PADI Open Water course schedule with us in Nusa Penida, Bali has room for flexibility.

If you do the theory with us while you are here on the island, you will need to allow an extra day for your course.

What can I do once I am certified?

Successful completion of the PADI Open Water course qualifies you to rent diving equipment and join guided dive tours all over the world and dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres with a group or a buddy. It also qualifies you to dive unguided with another similarly certified diver. However, we recommend getting some diving experience under your belt in the company of a PADI instructor or divemaster first, before doing that, especially in conditions and at dive sites that are new to you. (If you are under 15 and have taken the Junior Open Water course, there are stricter depth and autonomy limitations.)

CAUTION!

Doing the PADI Open Water course can be life changing, may make you feel like you've achieved a significant life goal and could lead to a brand-new addiction! Disclaimer: we will not be held responsible if you start traveling for diving or come back to see us for some more!

Once you’ve tried Bali diving, you won’t look back!
