PADI Self-Reliant Diver - course description
The PADI Self Reliant speciality consists of 4 dives.
Learning how to compensate for situations you would normally handle with a buddy is the focus of the Self-Reliant Diver course. This includes proper dive planning using air consumption rate calculations, life support system redundancy, and independent management of dive emergencies. During the 4 self-reliant training dives, you'll practice:

Performing an air consumption rate swim to gather information for later calculation.

Switching to a redundant air supply system during simulated emergency situations.

Swimming without a mask.

Navigating to various points, including your exit.

Using a DSMB.
Schedule:
Each day meet 7:30am. Two dives separated by 1 hour surface interval. Return to the dive centre by 1pm where lunch will be served (included in the price) and you will go through the theory teaching with your instructor.
Certification
After successful completion of the PADI Self Reliant course, you will receive the related certification.
What do I need for my PADI Self-Reliant specialty course?
Prerequisites: You need to be certified as PADI Advanced Diver or equivalent with at least 100 logged dives
Age: You are required to be 18 years or older
Medical: For all PADI courses you are required to complete the PADI medical form; download it here. You may be required to get clearance from a doctor before the start of any in-water activity so please review the form first. If you have any questions or if you think you will answer "yes" to any questions on page 2 of the form, please get in touch with us.
Theory: the theory part of the course will be done with your instructor during the 2 days.
