Know your mantas!
If like us you love manta rays and you would like to know more about them, this specialty is for you.
This course is specific to the area and was developed to create awareness and knowledge about the manta ray population. We are the only ones teaching it! A great way to enhance your dive in Manta Point, Nusa Penida.
It will help you understand better manta behaviour, as well as to distinguish male from female and the different manta species.
Of course during the dives we will try to observe as many mantas as possible and put your new skills in practice!
Who is it for?
If you’ve completed the PADI Open Water rating or higher, and you’re at least 12 years old, you can sign up for the Manta Awareness specialty course.
For all courses you will need to fill a medical form, download it here. If your answer to any of these questions is "Yes", you will need to be cleared by a doctor for diving.
Course description
We will go over manta facts and physical characteristic. We will also discuss responsible behaviours when diving with manta rays, as well as look at their habits: feeding, mating, etc.
We will then go out and do 2 dives in order to try observe as many mantas as possible! It will give you a chance to observe their behaviour and to learn how to recognise male and female mantas.
